Red Bull Racing are undoubtedly the toughest contender in 2012 Formula 1 season
Red Bull Racing have been considered as the strongest rival in the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship and they surely deserve to be called as one as they have performed tremendously well in the season so far.
The Milton Keynes based team had a struggling pre-season testing programme this year as they faced difficulties in designing their car in accordance with the new rules and regulations by FIA. However, their drivers, Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber have delivered amazing performances in the season until now and they have been deemed as the toughest contender in this year’s championship fight.
Even though, Vettel has not been able to dominate in the current season as he did in the preceding one in which he claimed 11 grands prix victories. Nonetheless, he has still been deemed as a potential candidate in the title chase along with his main rivals which include, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari, Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus and Lewis Hamilton of McLaren.
On the other hand, his teammate, Webber has also performed incredibly well and has been one of the most consistent point scorers in the races so far.
Although, after winning the Japanese GP, the chances of winning the championship became even stronger but the veteran German driver said that they still need to push harder to defend their title as the competition is very tough amongst the top three teams.
“Obviously it was an important step today but we are still a long way from the championship,” he said. “If you look at the last couple of races since we started back in Spa after summer break it was very much up and down. But these things happen and you don't hope for these things to happen to yourself, but we have so many races that it will happen. We don't know what will happen at next race. It's good to take points today and let's try to take the points at next race. It's a long season with some crazy racing.”
It will be extremely exciting to see how all the contenders perform in the remainder of the season and whether the defending champions will be able to defend their title or not.
