Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber satisfied with his run in 2011 Formula 1 season so far
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber is satisfied with his 2011 Formula 1 season run so far despite the fact that he has failed to win a single race.
“It's disappointing that I haven't won a race yet this year but I'm sure it will happen before the year's out. I'm confident of that. I've been very, very strong and consistent which is also not always easy,” he said.
12 races have completed successfully and Webber is currently in 2nd place in the drivers’ standings, over 90 points adrift of his teammate Sebastian Vettel who has been dominating the 2011 Formula 1 season with ease.
Both of the RBR drivers have not retired out of a single race which proves that Vettel has been driving much better than the Aussie. Both of them have the same car and they are using the same technology since the beginning of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Mark has secured a couple of pole positions this year but his race pace has been extremely disappointing. He has not had very good races and has been one of those drivers who have not made many overtakes this year comparative to rivals.
“You have many opportunities to make errors and mistakes but I've also done things that I've been very proud of this year but the victory hasn't yet happened. I'm sure it will come. I'm not getting too fired up about that to be honest. Like Nurburgring,
you know. It comes when you least expect it,” said the Aussie.
Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button on the other hand have secured victories despite the fact that they did not score a single pole as RBR are on a 12-race pole position scoring streak at the moment.
With just 7 races remaining in the 2011 Formula 1 season, it seems that Sebastian Vettel has everything under his control in the drivers’ standings and his rivals must be praying for his retirement at more than 2 occasions at least in order to even have
a shot at the titles.
