Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber wants more wins before retirement – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Mark Webber has said that he wants to claim more victories in order to improve his statistics before he gets retired from Formula 1.
Webber is currently standing at second place in the drivers’ rankings with 124 points and has scored two grands prix victories in the season so far. Moreover, he is just two points ahead of his teammate, Sebastian Vettel and is 40 points behind the Spaniard,
Fernando Alonso of Ferrari.
Furthermore, he said that he wants to achieve more race wins in the future so as to improve his position in the overall rankings of the drivers.
“It's human nature to always want more. You never think you have more wins than some World Champions, but that's the way it is. Would you have one win and one World Championship? Well, probably yes, but I have nine wins and of course I want to get more wins,”
he said.
In addition, he said that he is very much pleased with what he has achieved in his career so far while he said that he has got what he deserved.
“Ultimately, I've been very proud of what I've achieved you always want more, that's normal. When I left Australia to have what I would call a reasonable career in F1, that was something which wasn't a guarantee when I left, so I think I've got what I deserved,”
he added.
Besides, he said that he had some good and bad times in the game and asserted that he earnestly wants to improve his statistics on which he is working really hard.
Additionally, he said that he is racing for the best team in the world with which he has the perfect chance to achieve more in the future.
Although, he has not been able to win any world championship title until now, however, he is standing at 33rd position in the all-time grand prix winners’ list and is ahead of former champions, Keke Rosberg and John Surtees.
Let’s see how the Aussie performs in the remaining nine races after the mid-season break.
