Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel says the fans in Britain are special – Formula 1 news
The reigning world champion and current championship leader Sebastian Vettel has said that the fans in Britain are special and they support their own people because they are the most knowledgeable ones.
“The fans in Britain are special. They support their own people of course, but they really know so much about our sport and are really fair when it’s about acknowledging performance and achievement. This year the start and finish have been moved, so let’s
see what effect that will have,” he said.
Other than that, he added that Silverstone is one of his most favourite tracks of the sport mainly because of the combination of the corners which makes it extremely pleasurable for the drivers to drive.
However, the track went through some major changes in the pits and paddock area as a result of which the start/finish line area has changed as well.
Mark Webber echoed his teammate’s statement and added that the British Grand Prix is definitely one of the highlights of the Formula 1 calendar with a legendary venue for the race weekend.
“There has been a lot of work done there in the past year including the new pit complex which looks great. As proved in previous seasons, the characteristics of the circuit have suited us well. The test will remain if it’s the same this time around,” Webber
said.
Nevertheless, the rule changes regarding the ban on off-throttle Blown Diffusers is expected to affect Red Bull Racing the most. According to some reports, it has been revealed that the gap between the top running teams of the sport is going to decrease
noticeably. As a result, the competition level will increase and Red Bull will not dominate the rest of the season as easily as they are.
McLaren and Ferrari are the teams which will benefit from this ban the most as result but the change in pace is going to be much more clear during the practice sessions and mainly the qualifying session of the British Grand Prix.
