Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel wants an honest and respectful teammate – Formula 1 news
The reigning 2010 Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel has said that he only wants an honest and respectful teammate at Red Bull Racing team.
Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel have not been the best of friends since the 2010 Formula 1 season as a result of a couple of incidents during the season and since both of them were competing for the title back then, their relationship was bound to get dented.
“In the end it doesn't interest me who my team-mate is, as long as he or she is honest and we respect one another. Many people have misunderstood the relationship between Mark and myself. Even if we aren't best friends, we do respect each other,” said Vettel.
Recently at the British Grand Prix, Webber was ordered by his team to back off Vettel’s car who was running in second place. The two Red Bull Racing team drivers were competing for the second place during the last couple of laps and despite these team orders,
Webber did not stop and kept challenging his teammate quit actively.
Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner was quite disappointed as a result and said the team was giving these orders in order to avoid any sort of collision which might have hurt their statistics for the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The German Grand Prix is expected to take place this coming weekend and it is believed that this is one of the most important races for Sebastian Vettel.
The current championship leader finished in second place at the British Grand Prix as a result of which, he is definitely not as confident as he was during the first couple of races of the season.
“I think the most important thing is that when I go home tonight, I can look in the mirror and feel fine about myself,” he said.
Since Red Bull Racing have done a great job on the RB7 up until now, it is expected that Vettel will once again dominate the field. Let’s see how he fares this weekend.
