Red Bull Racing feel confident about new alternators – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has said that they are feeling confident about the new alternators which their engine provider, Renault have tested in Singapore.
Sebastian Vettel of the Milton Keynes based team faced an unfortunate retirement in the Italian Grand Prix held at Autodromo di Monza due to the failure of his alternator. Afterwards, Renault have been working extremely hard to find the necessary solution
to the problem and have finally come up with their new alternator which they have evaluated during the last week.
Moreover, Horner has said that they are hopefully looking forward to use the new alternator in the Japanese GP which is going to be held at Suzuka next weekend.
“I would hope we have them for the next race. I think Renault have got more dyno testing to run on them,” Horner said.
In addition, he said that they have resolved the issues which they faced in the previous few races and now they are positively targeting to attain competitive results in the remainder of the season so as to win this year’s championship title.
“I think they have understood what the problem was with the [Jerome] d'Ambrosio failure because there was something left afterwards. So that has given some tell-tale signs of what to work on to rectify,” he added.
It will be interesting to mention that Vettel has not dominated in this season as compared to the last one in which he won 11 grands prix. Besides, he has been seen struggling with his car at many occasions.
Nevertheless, the veteran German driver is still standing amongst one of the most competent title contenders in this year’s championship and is presently at second position in the drivers’ rankings behind Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who is at the top.
On the other hand, the defending champions are leading the constructors’ championship with a strong lead over their main rivals and it will be thrilling to see that whether they will be able to defend their championship title or not.
