Red Bull Racing hope to carry on their good form in season ahead – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has said that they are looking forward to carry on their good form in the season ahead after an amazing weekend in Canada.
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing claimed his first ever victory at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal after claiming his third pole position of the season. On the other hand, his teammate, Mark Webber also performed convincingly well in the preceding
race and managed to secure an impressive 4th place finish after taking a start from 5th grid slot.
After securing competitive results in the Canadian GP, Horner has said that they are positively aiming to carry on their momentum in the British GP. Besides, he said that they have proven their potential on high-speed tracks in this season and are hoping
to attain same good results in the approaching races.
“I think that obviously set-up wise we made some progress here, and we hope that that will continue into the Silverstone weekend,” Horner told Autosport. “Malaysia also had very quick corners and we were strong there, so I think we have understood some of
the issues we have had in Barcelona, and hopefully we can carry this form into the next few races.”
“It has been a strong performance here like it was in Bahrain, and like it was in Malaysia,” he said. “We see with these tyres that once you are in window with them, then you can extract a lot of lap time.”
The Milton-Keynes based squad have performed remarkably well in the season until now. They are leading the constructors’ championship with 201 points and have a strong lead over their main rival, Ferrari.
Meanwhile, Vettel is leading the drivers’ standings with 132 points and is ahead of his major opponent, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari. In contrast, Webber is at 5th place in the drivers’ championship with 69 points. Additionally, the Aussie is ahead
of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes and is behind his main competitor, Lewis Hamilton of McLaren.
It will be thrilling to see how the triple world champions perform in the season ahead and whether they will be able to defend their title or not.
