Red Bull Racing owner Dietrich Mateschitz: Vettel capable of top performances – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing owner Dietrich Mateschitz has said that they knew their driver Sebastian Vettel is capable of top performances.
Mateschitz added that Vettel is unique, as he did a really fantastic job during the races in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far.
The 67-year-old also mentioned that they have been with the German for 10 years in the past. He added that they were already familiar with Vettel’s talent and due to that, they led him into Formula 1 racing and provided him with a winning car.
Mateschitz commented, “But it came as a surprise to many that he achieved it with such a long run of consistency. The success confirms to the team that it is capable of building a winning car. And you can't really top it if this success is achieved with
so much sympathy, youthfulness and joy.”
He went on to mention, “Sebastian is grateful that we have been with him for more than 10 years that we led him into Formula One and can provide him with a winning car. We are grateful that he not only honours our effort with his talent, but also with his
unbelievable willpower, professionalism and discipline.”
On the other hand, Vettel accepted the compliments by his team owner and stated that he is feeling proud to hear such good remarks. He added that he has a very special relationship with the Austrian billionaire, Mateschitz for many years.
Vettel is leading the 2011 world championship after winning eight rounds of the ongoing season so far.
The 24-year-old driver won the race in the 2011 Formula 1 season for the eighth time at the Monza racetrack. After that, he is sitting at the top position with 284 points in the drivers’ championship.
Vettel just needs one more victory in order to bag the 2011 championship.
After the 2011 Italian Grand Prix, the RBR driver is looking forward to the 2011 Singapore Grand Prix, which is scheduled to be held on September 25.
