Red Bull Racing is being served well with what it deserves. After having worked really hard, and of course really ‘smart’ all through the 2010 season, the jubilation and partying is far over for the Austrian squad. In addition to several other awards and
recognitions, the team has now been voted ‘ESPNF1's team of the year’.
Red Bull Racing bagged both the drivers’ as well as the constructor’s Championship, at the beginning of November, after a very tough battle all through the season. The achievement is certainly impressive as the team has transformed from being a ‘group of
fun boys’ to a double title winning team in just a period of six years. This season saw the squad indulge in a brutal fight at 19 different arenas, all across the globe, fighting against the most legendary names in racing world like, Ferrari, Mercedes and
McLaren. However, the Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel, was the last man standing after a tough tug for the title, and has become the youngest Champion in the history of the sport.
Now, as the season is recalled by the ESPNF1 panel, including racing idols like Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jackie Stewart and Gerard Lopez, Red Bull has been unanimously selected as the best team of the year. Moreover, the young German, Vettel has been chosen
as the ‘Driver of the Year’ by the same panel.
As the jury sat down to make the final decision, Red Bull made a clean sweep, gaining the votes of all the top men in the panel and making the decision very quick and easy for them. Undisputedly, the team has done a brilliant job, and the contribution of
the drivers, the management and every single person in the factory is immense.
While expressing his joy on receiving another award, the team Principal, Christian Horner, said, "It's fantastic that we have been voted team of the year by ESPNF1 and thanks to everyone who voted on the panel.”
He further continued saying, "It was an incredible season for us, which resulted in four one-two finishes, nine wins, fifteen pole positions and two World Championships. It was the realisation of a high target that we set for ourselves at the beginning of
the year and it's thanks to the hard work that was put in by the team, all our suppliers and everyone at Red Bull along with the unwavering support from Mr. Mateschitz. We will now build on this result and get ready for new challenges in 2011."
