Red Bull Racing team believes Mark Webber take strong start to 2012 season – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner has said that his team believes their driver Mark Webber will take a very strong start to the 2012 Formula 1 season, after winning the race in the last round of the 2011 Formula 1 season at Brazil.
Horner added that it is really great that Webber has won a race. He also mentioned that he thinks it would have been very tough for Webber to have moved out into the 2012 winter testing with his teammate Sebastian Vettel having won eleven rounds and he not
having won a single race all the season.
The Australian won the first race in recently held Brazilian Grand Prix since the 2010 Hungarian Grand Prix. However, the team hope Webber will head into the 2012 winter test session with his strong performance.
Horner talked to the media and commented, “I think if Mark is slightly muted, I guess it is because he would have loved to beaten Seb in a fair straight fight. To have inherited the lead, any driver is going to take that.”
He went on to mention, “It is part of grand prix racing, but if anybody thinks that was concocted in any way - I can absolutely hand on heart guarantee you that based on the blood pressure on the pit wall you could rest assured that it was a genuine, genuine
issue.”
The Red Bull Racing team driver Webber had a great race weekend in Brazil, where he managed his first race win of the ongoing season.
After topped the FP1 at the Sao Paulo racetrack, he took first position on the raceday at Interlagos.
The 35-year-old driver completed all laps and claimed first place ahead of all drivers in the end of the 2011 Brazil Grand Prix.
After starting the race from the second position on the opening grid, Webber ended up ahead of his teammate Vettel at Sao Paulo.
He ended the 2011 Formula 1 season at the third place behind McLaren’s Jenson Button with 258 points in the drivers’ standings.
Let’s see whether Red Bull Racing driver Webber takes strong start to the 2012 F1 season following his positive ending in the 2011 championship.
