Red Bull Racing team principal Horner says Vettel constantly improving – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing manager Christian Horner has said that the team driver Sebastian Vettel is constantly improving since his start in Formula 1 sport.
Horner added that they always received better results from the German and that he is still fighting in the 2011 Formula 1 season for the second championship of his career.
Red Bull driver Vettel won his ninth race of the ongoing season in the recently held Singapore Grand Prix. After a strong start in the race weekend, he managed his race victory at the Marina Bay Street Circuit on the raceday.
The manager talked to the media and stated that they are very happy with Vettel’s performance in the season so far, as he did a really fantastic job for them.
Horner commented, “I was particularly impressed with how he showed his critics how the wind blows. All those who always claimed that he's not a real racer but somebody who prefers to bag points had to rub their eyes after seeing his courageous overtaking
of Alonso in Monza. He's got immense speed and breath-taking consistency.”
He added, “Well, he's still motivated enough to beat anybody except Sebastian... And it seems all too convenient to underestimate Mark when comparing him against Seb. But that is definitely a huge mistake. Mark is undervalued right now.”
Horner further discussed that the reason of their current form in the season is that they have grown as a proper team until now and secondly, they have learnt a lot from their mistakes, which they made during the 2010 Formula 1 season. In addition, he stated
that Vettel’s aim of winning the second title has increased his self-confidence and he performed better and better with every race in the season as well.
The 24-year-old driver is leading the 2011 drivers’ championship with 309 points following his ninth victory in Singapore recently. He just needs one more point to win the 2011 championship, as he is very far ahead of the other drivers in the title fight
at the moment.
The 15th round of the 2011 season will take place in Japan on October 9 at the Suzuka circuit.
Let’s see whether Vettel wins the 2011 Japanese Grand Prix following his ninth race victory in Singapore.
