Red Bull Racing will not impose anything on Mark Webber – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has said that they are not going to impose anything on their driver, Mark Webber until he has the potential to win races.
Sebastian Vettel of the Milton Keynes based team has performed tremendously well in the season so far and after his third consecutive win in the Korean Grand Prix, he is now leading the drivers’ championship. However, the veteran German driver is just 63
points ahead of his teammate, Webber who still has a chance to claim the world championship title in the remaining four races.
Therefore, Horner said that they will not enforce any kind of orders in favour of the defending champion until or unless the Australian driver has a chance to win the championship.
“Sebastian has moved into the lead; Mark still has a chance of winning this Championship,” said the Red Bull team boss. “It would be wrong to impose team order while Mark mathematically has a chance of winning.”
In addition, he said that even though they struggled in the opening few races of the current season due to the changes in the rules and regulations by FIA. Nevertheless, he asserted that they have finally found the right direction and are pleased with their
overall progress in the season so far.
“We have been trying to get on top of understanding the regulation changes all year. We have been pushing since Australia, but it has started to move in the right direction now,” he added. “We take nothing for granted though; we had circuit that we thought
would not suit us at Spa and Monza. We got a result out of Spa, we didn't at Monza.”
The defending champions have been considered as the most competitive contender in this year’s title chase and they surely deserve to be called as one as they have shown remarkable performances in the season until now.
Presently, they are leading the constructors’ championship and have a strong lead over their main rivals which include Ferrari and McLaren.
It will be thrilling to see how they perform in the remainder of the season.
