Out of favour Barcelona striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 have agreed terms with Red Bull Salzburg.
Soriano has seen his stock dwindle in the current campaign, with La Blaugrana uninterested in renewing his contract. He had absolutely no chance of making inroads into the first team fold and had accepted that he is on his way out of the Camp Nou.
After a sensational goal return for Barcelona B in the 2010/11 season, Soriano reflected that he hoped of establishing himself in Barcelona’s first team. He has shown an immaculate sense of goal scoring in Segunda Division, netting a total
of 59 goals in 81 competitive appearances.
Soriano had earlier revealed that Portugal is his desired destination, which allowed a possible reunion with Nolito. However, it looks as if the Spaniard has taken a U-turn on his decision, as he's set to undergo a medical with the Austrian
side, Salzburg.
La Blaugrana announced on their official website that they have agreed in principle, with the Austrian club, for the transfer of the prolific scorer. It has been reported that Soriano will undergo medical formalities and will sign a contract
shortly.
No information has been released about the transfer fee; however, Spanish media has speculated it to be in the region of 800 thousand Euros, plus variables.
Soriano had plenty of offers from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, but it looks likely that the player will link-up with the Austrian team.
Salzburg coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-c30950 Moniz, was happy with the marquee signing and shared his views while talking to the club’s official website.
"I had a very positive and promising talk with Jonathan and realised that despite receiving tempting offers from England and Portugal he was determined to sign for us.
"That was the decisive reason why we made an offer - along with the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 will still be out injured for a while."
Segunda Division’s Pichichi award winner has seen himself marginalised in Catalonia this season. The 26-year old has made a paltry 10 outings as a move to Austria beckons.
