Ferrari build and sell road cars to fund their motorsports rather than making money, Red Bull sponsor so many different motorsports, from F1 to air racing and everything in-between that it can't be for advertizing. Do they share the same idea as ferrari, or why else put so much sponsorship into every kind of motorsport?

  1. idk

  2. The owner of Red Bull is into extreme sports. What's unique about them is they own the teams they sponsor. So there dollar's go further and they never have to worry about finding new sponsorship.

So the Ferrari analogy holds true for Red Bull except there selling energy drinks rather than car's. Red Bull is a hit as a mixer with hard alcohol.

Red Bull alone taste's like Sweet Tarts soaking in Seltzer Water.

  3. First off, while it's true that Ferrari started selling road cars to help fund their grand prix efforts, that was in the 1940s and 1950s (maybe later, but things definitely changed once Fiat came into the picture)!  The current F1 team is a seperate business entity from the road car company, and the only funding (if any) that passes to the F1 team would be in the form of sponsorship money, the same as anyone else that has ad space on the car (though at present, Malboro and Acer account for the vast majority of Ferrari's annual budget).

As for Red Bull:  Dietrich Mateschitz, the owner of the company, has had ties with various racing teams for quite some time, and it would seem he is a major fan of motorsports based on his involvement in such.  So part of their "Agenda" clearly is that he has the money to enjoy the role he takes in sponsoring teams and owning teams.  But, he clearly did not become a successful businessman by hemoraging money, so while it's possible and maybe likely that some of their budget comes in the form of spending as a hobby, they have clearly attracted some other major sponsors and been successful in using their motorsports connections for promoting their products.

All that considered, their final agenda will be to win races and be successful, as this will be the best outcome for what their owner wants, and it will be the best case scenario for cross promotional opportunities.
