Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko believes Fernando Alonso’s lucky streak will end soon – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing motorsport advisor, Helmut Marko has said that Ferrari driver, Fernando Alonso’s dominance will soon come to an end in the season ahead.
Alonso has performed terrifically well in the first half of the season as he claimed three grands prix victory and two pole positions. Moreover, he is presently leading the drivers’ championship with 164 points ahead of Red Bull pair of drivers, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel.
However, he struggled with his pace during the Hungarian GP and could only secure fifth place finish after setting off from 6th grid slot.
Meanwhile, Marko thinks that the lucky streak of the Spaniard will come to end very soon while he said that he is hoping that their drivers to reach at the top in the approaching races.
“We have to attack,” said Helmut Marko. “And as nobody is kissed by fortune all the time, my guess is that the lucky streak of Alonso will sooner or later come to halt,” he hoped adding that Red Bull had the potential to get its drivers in the front.”
It will be important to mention that after the qualifying at Hungaroring in Budapest, Alonso said that he is unaware of the problems which he faced with the car setup and expected to struggle in the race.
“In Valencia, we started 11th and won the race,” said the two-time world champion. “It's impossible to explain because you win one race and the next, you're in bad position. There's no analysis. You can try and comment on what happens each weekend but it's a championship with no type of clear order.”
Nonetheless, he said that they are contended with their performance in the preceding race as they managed to optimise the given opportunities and scored some crucial points in the championship.
In addition, he said that they are not feeling upset over their uncompetitive result in the last race and are aiming to continue their developmental process in the season ahead so as to hit back in the championship fight.
Let’s see how all the contenders come up after the summer smash.
