Red Bull again has the best car: Dr. Helmut Marko
Dr Helmut Marko, the former racing driver from Austria and the key mastermind behind the recent success of the reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel, is delighted to see Red Bull’s latest car, the RB7. He feels that the new car is definitely a title winning
machine and will help the Red Bull team to lead in the 2011 Formula 1 season.
While talking to the media about the new car and the team’s form, the Austrian revealed that he has been more than pleased by the way the car performed on the track. The 67-year-old is the right-hand man for the Red Bull team owner Dietrich Mateschitz and
has tremendous influence with all the major team decisions.
Mateschitz is also known to have very strong ties with the new World Champion Vettel. It is largely believed that his guidance has played an effective role in helping the young German reach the heights he has accomplished to date.
The first pre-season test session began on 1 February, 2011 at the Ricardo Tormo track near Valencia, Spain. The Austrian squad inaugurated its new car just ahead of the first day of the test at its paddock in Valencia. After having seen the new car during
the initial two days of testing, Marko is defiantly confident for a successful 2011 campaign.
While expressing his contentment for the new team car, the former racer said, "If a race were held now, we would lap everybody. How our car goes through the corners is amazing. This will be our third strong year in a row."
After being in the sport for only six years, the Red Bull Racing Team, under the leadership of Christian Horner, has won both the Drivers and Constructors Titles of the 2010 season.
The team has produced the fastest car on the track earlier in 2009 as well as in 2010. Now, once again it is believed that the team’s new car will also be the fastest one this season. The 23-year-old Red Bull driver Vettel told the reporters, "I cannot complain
as I'm satisfied so far, but all the cars will still change considerably. Whether we're ahead or not is hard to say."
