Red Bull conquers both Friday Practices at Japanese Grand Prix
We already knew Red Bull would be fast but actually they had been faster than expected at both the practice sessions carried out this morning at the Suzuka Track in Japan.
The sixteenth race of the season and of course, one of the most crucial one is scheduled to take place this Sunday, amidst a lot of thrill and fervour.
The Formula One cars rallied at the brutal track Friday morning under the shelter of dark thick clouds. The engines roared hard and tires shrieked as the gladiators growled across the circuit, ready to backlash anyone who comes in their way. And once again
as the cars completed their cruise, Red Bull simply showed that they have got the ‘wings’.
The first practice session saw Sebastian Vettel stamp the fastest lap in 1:32.585s while at the second, he was even faster and wrapped in only 1:31.465s. On the other hand, his teammate, Mark Webber marked the first practice in 1:32.633s, being 0.048s adrift
his teammate whereas the gap increased to 0.395s as the second practice ended.
At present, Red Bull already dominates the Constructor’s Championship with its 383 points while its team members, Webber and Vettel stand at first and forth places in the charts, having bagged 202 and 191 points so far, respectively.
With the unwinding of the first two practices, the team has further terrified their rivals. Red Bull has lately been demonstrating that it possesses the fastest car of the season, and it had been noticed time and again that their rivals fail to chase them
on the track.
The two practices had explicitly been poor for McLaren as at the first one, both of its drivers went off the track, damaging their MP4-25 badly. The second saw Jenson Button at 6th place while his teammate, Lewis Hamilton was nowhere above 13th.
The third most competitive team of the season, Ferrari was somewhat better at the second session as Fernando Alonso made the 4th fastest lap of the day while Felipe Massa once again followed his tail for 5th position, with a gap of
0.157s between the two.
With all said and done, one thing was loud and clear on the track that Vettel and Webber are the two men ‘to look closely’ at this Grand Prix. Webber has so far never been able to win a race at the Suzuka Track and last year, he had a poor finish at 17th
position as his car got damaged during the qualifying.
On the other hand, Vettel is pretty confident about this circuit as he was able to conquer the last year’s race and again this year, the German seems to be in good form and pace.
