Red Bull driver Mark Webber says he produces results when he gets a perfect car – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Formula 1 driver Mark Webber has said that his one hundred percent potential can be seen in his RB7 when the car itself does not give any technical problems.
Webber added that Red Bull are happy and satisfied with the performance of the young German driver Sebastian Vettel. The Aussie further added that Red Bull have always been in harmony if Vettel wins, just as the case was in the 2010 Formula 1 season.
He further added that he is still looking to beat Vettel and will do his best as all Formula 1 drivers want to win races. The Aussie added that there are still lot of races to be contested in the 2011 season and he will strive to win as early as possible.
Webber stated, “When I've had a smooth run and had no technical issues I've been going a lot better. There's no reason I can't keep that going and I will do I'm sure. [The team] harmony is perfect when results are like this. I'm not tired of [fighting] at
all. It's the same for all of us - you want to do well and get the most out of yourself.”
Ironically, Webber has always faced a technical issue in his car while Vettel sails smooth towards the chequered flag. In the Valencia Grand Prix, Webber’s car gearbox malfunctioned while Vettel had no problems whatsoever.
Further talking about the speculation that Webber’s seat in Red Bull is not safe, the Aussie stated, “I have a very good understanding of what's going on, and I'm very relaxed. There's a lot of talk but tomorrow there will be a new story, that's how it is
in F1.”
Webber is currently third on the drivers’ championship with 109 points. In the Silverstone Grand Prix, he and McLaren’s Jenson Button will have a chance to cut short the lead of Vettel as all the other drivers are a bit too far at the moment.
