Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel expects a tough race at Valencia – Formula 1 news
Sebastian Vettel says that he is expecting a tough and unpredictable race on Sunday at the European Grand Prix.
Vettel finished on pole position but reckons that is not enough to predict a win for him as it is going to be a tough race to win. The German will have it in his mind that he has won the last two races here from pole position and if he is to win tomorrow
that will make a hat-trick and also be the first instance in the season of a repeat win.
The season has had seven races and so far there have been seven different winners Vettel will work hard to be first one to change that.
“It would be nice, no doubt, but I think it's going to be a difficult race and a difficult race to predict,” he said. “We've seen too much this year to sit here on Saturday afternoon and predict what's going to happen, so I think it's easier to predict the
result of the football tonight than the race tomorrow.”
“I think it's going to be tough, hotter than today and there will be a lot of cars to look out for. Ferrari have been competitive, Williams have been quick yesterday in their long runs, Lotus have proven in Bahrain that they will be there in hot conditions,”
he added.
He emphasised that even though grid position is important but as important as it is made out to be. Vettel came to his prime best in the final session of the Qualifying. It was the final lap of the qualifying where he drover imperiously and went past Lewis
Hamilton’s time by 0.3 seconds to finish at the top.
He said that he has been feeling really good all weekend. The team and the staff is working hard to make sure the team gets the result they want out of the race. There are a few new parts on the car and hopefully they will work well during the race.
Vettel is placed third in the drivers’ standing behind Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso but only three points behind the leader.
