Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel looking forward to victory at Nürburgring – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that he wants to impress his home crowd by taking a victory in the upcoming German Grand Prix, which will be held on July 24, 2011 at the Nürburgring circuit.
Vettel added that it is his wish to win a race at his home track in Germany, as every Formula 1 driver wants to win a home race. He further said that every driver wants to give a hundred percent to his team during the race and he is very motivated for the
next race weekend.
The German is confident for the home race, as he believes he can perform strongly on the Nürburgring grid following his very strong races in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far.
The 24-year-old driver discussed the Nürburgring racetrack and said, “The Warsteiner corner is tricky, as is the sharp left before that. The best place to overtake is before the NGK chicane - which is a challenging left-right bend. It's possible to overtake
on the brakes there, because you come out of the previous corner and have to brake down to 100kph.”
The current world champion added, “Hitting the brakes later means you can take the bend first, it sounds easy but it's not because you have to keep away from the kerbs or the car lifts off and you get overtaken again. The Eifel hills are special because
the weather can change there as quick as lightning.”
Vettel is moving in the right direction from the start of the ongoing 2011 Formula 1 season and is performing very well for the Red Bull Racing team. He is at the summit of the 2011 Formula 1 drivers’ championship with 204 points. Vettel has won six races
out of the nine in the ongoing season so far.
The German failed to win the recently held British Grand Prix, as Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso beat him and won the race at the Silverstone race circuit.
After a second place finish in Silverstone, Vettel is looking forward to his race victory in the German Grand Prix. Let’s see how he manages to do that.
