Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel scores fourth win of 2011 Formula 1 season at Spanish Grand Prix
Red Bull Racing team’s Sebastian Vettel is at it again as he secured his 4th victory of the 2011 Formula 1 season at the Spanish Grand Prix even though he was unable to score the pole position for the first time this season.
The reigning world champion and current championship leader extended his lead by 41 points over his closest rival Lewis Hamilton in the drivers’ standings and it seems that beating Red Bull Racing team is extremely difficult for the rest of the top running
teams according to the current situation.
However, McLaren are getting closer to Sebastian’s pace with each passing race as Hamilton finished just around 6 tenths of a second behind Vettel’s RB7 while Jenson Button recovered noticeably and scored the 3rd place for the race as he lost
a lot of ground after starting from 5th place on the grid.
They were followed by Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso in the 4th and 5th places respectively. It was a very disappointing race for the Spaniard as he was able to take the lead before reaching turn one at the start and it seemed that
he would have a strong race. However, he was unable to score a good performance in the end especially because of the fact that he lost some ground after pitting for the first and third time.
He was followed by Michael Schumacher surprisingly who finished ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg in the 6th place. It was a pretty good race for Mercedes GP as both of its drivers finished in points successfully.
The last two drivers to score points were Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Perez surprisingly and it seems that Sauber are looking pretty good in terms of pace this season.
Nevertheless, it was yet another entertaining race with plenty of overtaking but Mark Webber must be disappointed as he was unable to take the advantage after scoring his first pole position of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
