Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel willing to pay to drive in Formula 1 if he has to – Formula 1 news
The reigning Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel has said in an interview that he loves the sport so much that he is even willing to pay in order to drive in the sport.
Vettel is one of those few drivers who get to drive for one of the best teams in the sport and he has made it big in his first few years.
The young German joined Formula 1 back in 2007 with Toro Rosso and after some remarkable performances, made it to the Red Bull Racing Team. In his first year with the team in 2009, he secured the 2nd place in the drivers’ standings after which
it was quite clear that Vettel is going to make it big one day and he did it the following year when he won the 2010 Formula 1 title and became the youngest driver to do so.
His journey has been quite entertaining for him and one has to admit that for him, driving in Formula 1 means more than anything as he has just started to enjoy it at its utmost.
“Based on that view I probably would even pay to drive a Formula One car,” he said.
During his time with Toro Rosso, it was revealed that the young German earned around $165,000 and now, he is earning much more than that.
Even after earning and scoring so much in the sport, Vettel still claims that he is “hugely privileged” by the support of his fans since he has been able to do so much in such a short span of time.
The current championship leader has recently stated that after winning the championship in 2010, he felt “empty and lost” as he did not realise what happened.
“I hadn’t really realised what had just happened. It was a dream come true to test a Formula One car, then the dream got bigger when I was driving one and making it onto the podium and winning a race, so when the title was mine it was almost a bit too much
for me. But instinctively I knew that it was very addictive - I want more of the same!” he said.
However, he added that he is hoping to stay with the Red Bull Racing Team even though the legacies of Ferrari and McLaren are quite epic for the people in Formula 1.
Since Red Bull Racing are producing the best car since the past 3 years, Vettel claims that he has no reason to leave the team as they have the best people to produce the best car on the grid which is going to help him win the titles in the future as well.
