Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel’s performance throughout the 2010 Formula 1 season
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel drove in the 2010 Formula 1 season for Red Bull Racing. He had a great time throughout the season and won his first championship in the end.
After the pre-season test sessions on different F1 racetracks, he took a very strong start in the 2010 Formula 1 season.
At the Australian Grand Prix 2010, the track was called wet shortly before the start of the race. Sebastian Vettel had a decent drive into first corner from the pole. But unfortunately, the race did not go so well, a tangle between Jenson Button and Fernando
Alonso stopped the race. When the race was resumed his strategy took him to number 5 spot leaving behind his teammate Mark Webber.
In the 2010 Formula 1 season, Vettel was going good against his rival Lewis Hamilton.
Sebastian did good defence in the Malaysian GP meeting and ended up winning the race while in the Chinese Grand Prix, he maintained third position.
The Monaco GP brought fortune for Vettel. He took pole position with the 2nd fastest qualifying time in Monaco's history. As the season went forward in Canada Sebastian kept his lead leaving behind his rivals. But, by the end of it Button slipped pass him
and took the victory.
Vettel was dominating during most of his races in the 2010 Formula 1 season. The Spanish GP did not turn out very well for the young German. But Vettel kept his pace and ended up at a decent 5th spot for his team.
At the British Grand Prix, there was a little change in the engine-mapping rule. This was not much a problem for Vettel, as he finished the track quickly and made a record of fastest qualifying lap in Silverstone’s history. After the Silverstone event, the
German driver made a good start to the German Grand Prix but ended the race by coming in 2nd place leaving behind his teammate, Webber by 85 points to exact.
In the following race weekend, Vettel dropped his position and ended up at the last stair of the podium in Hungary.
He was very slow in the Belgium Grand Prix in 2010 F1 season, as he finished his race at the 15th place.
Vettel put the team at the 4th and 2nd places in the 2010 Italian and Singapore Grands Prix respectively.
He was back to his winning ways in the 2010 Japanese Grand Prix. He set the fastest time on the race results sheets.
The next Korean Grand Prix was proved as unlucky for Vettel, as he retired from the race due to an engine problem in his car.
Following the disappointing Korean race results, the Red Bull driver was back on the podium in the Brazil Grand Prix.
Wining the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand prix from pole made him the Youngest World Champion in the sport’s history. He was also awarded as the youngest podium-finisher and after that, the German media started calling him ‘baby Schumi.’
