Red Bull launches Red Bulletin in the US – Extreme Sports News
After a long wait, the sports and action sports magazine by Red Bull, Red Bulletin, has finally made its’ way to the United States of America. The famous energy drink brand launched the US edition of their magazine, on Tuesday, May 10.
Talking to a leading sports network, Red Bulletin’s associate publisher, Raymond Roker said, “The motto of The Red Bulletin is 'Beyond The Ordinary,' and its mission is to bring to life the creative and adventurous world of Red Bull through spectacular photography
and feature stories.”
Almost 75,000 copies of the 100-paged June issue of the magazine will be hitting news-stands in over 20,000 locations. Many major American newspapers will be inserting the magazine in their Sunday editions. An estimated 1.2 million copies will be getting
inserted in major newspapers such as Los Angeles Times, New York Daily News, Miami Herald, Chicago Tribune and the Houston Chronicle. The magazine also has an iPad application version.
The price of the monthly magazine is $4.99, making it quite affordable for everyone. The initial subscription price has been set to $12.
Red Bull is not the only brand to build media products to communicate with people. The quarterly Rouge magazine and BabyCenter website by Johnson & Johnson, are just a few examples of such efforts. Media product approach is becoming more popular among the
marketers’ because of the ability to form a relation with their consumer.
Unlike other marketers who pay custom publishers to produce branded magazines for their customers, Red Bull has their own media house, the Red Bull Media House unit, which publishes Red Bulletin.
According to Rocker, Red Bull and the Media House are in an ideal position to deliver what the brand promises. With the help of the magazine, the company can get closer to their customers and form a more meaningful relationship.
Roker said, “Red Bull has created compelling content from hundreds of sports and culture events and athlete projects for nearly 25 years. From the beginning, we filmed, photographed and provided high quality stories for broadcast, print and digital media
partners ... Red Bull is fulfilling its brand promise through content -- this is what we've been about for over two decades.”
Red Bull published the first edition of Red Bulletin in Austria, in 2007. It has expanded with the passage of time, with country-specific editions in Great Britain, Ireland, Poland, Germany, New Zealand, Kuwait, South Africa and the latest addition, US.
More countries are also expected to be added to the distribution list. Currently, the magazine circulates 4.6 million copies, globally.
Red Bulletin is expected to get an over-whelming response in America, where action sports are increasing in popularity with each passing day.
