Red Bull not worried about possible clash between their drivers – Formula 1 news
Red Bull Racing team principal, Christian Horner has said that they have no worries over the possible clash between their pair of drivers, Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber as they are likely to have a strong battle this season.
Vettel won the drivers’ championship title during the last two years out of which he completely dominated during the preceding season and claimed victories in 11 races. However, in the current season so far, he has only been able to win one race while his
teammate, Webber has scored two race victories and has a lead of 16 points over the defending champion.
Meanwhile, the Australian driver has recently signed a new deal with Red Bull for the next season which has given rise to many speculations that both the drivers may have issues with each other in the near future.
Nonetheless, Horner said that their drivers have developed a very sound relationship with each other and they are ready to support their team in all the areas so as to gain victory in this year’s championship.
“It is a nice headache to have,” said Horner. “But just as we always do we will do our best to support them and it is down to what they do on the track at the end of the day. Mark won the race [British Grand Prix] because he deserved to win it. I think they
have spent more time racing each other. They sit in hundreds of hours of meetings together, working on developing the car. They work as team members and then it is down to what they do on track.”
On the other hand, the veteran German driver also asserted that although they are not very good friends but he has no problem with the Aussie and they have always worked together as professionals in the team.
Currently, the defending champions are at the top of the constructors’ rankings with 216 points and they have a lead of 64 points over their main rival, Ferrari.
Over and above, it will be very interesting to see how all the rivals come up in the season ahead.
