Red Bull optimistic about testing Buddh International Circuit for Indian GP first - Formula 1 news
Red Bull show car driver Neel Jani was busy driving the Red Bull's RB1 car in India recently.
The team has driven the very first lap at the newly unveiled Buddh International Circuit, in India.
Red Bull on their website said that first they entertained the adrenaline-seekers at the Rajpath in Delhi, then they went on to make a world record by achieving the height of 18,380 feet on the highest drivable road in the world.
Red Bull proudly mentioned that now they have become the first team to drive at the Buddh International Circuit.
Talking about the racetrack, they said that it is a mix of slow turns and high-speed straights. in addition, they stated that the circuit elevation to the track is going to make it a tough challenge for Red Bull driver Neel Jani, who now is the first driver to drive at the newly developed circuit.
He said, “For me, India is as good as coming home. Setting two records in one week with Red Bull Racing in India is a fantastic feeling. Getting to open the track with my Indian roots is a big honour for me and to being doing that with the 2011 World Champions Red Bull Racing is an added honour. I’m sure, come race weekend, that Seb and Mark will push their RB7s on this extremely exciting and fast track.”
He went on to add that they have only two weeks to go until the 2011 Indian Grand Prix. Even though, they have been very successful  bagging both the drivers’ and constructors’ championship, the team is still doing its best and working hard to push for more bonus points, podiums and a win in India.
Red Bull next priority though has been expressed by the team principal Christian Horner. They want Webber to win rounds in the remaining three races of the 2011 Formula 1 season in order to secure the 2nd position in the drivers’ standing.
It would be interesting to see how well Red Bull performs at the Buddh International circuit so far their RB7 car has been unmatched.
