Red Bull quotes for Italian Grand Prix
The Formula One caravan is ready to head for the thirteenth race of the season which also happens to be one of the most awaited races of the year. The Italian Grand Prix has always been very special not only for Formula One drivers but also for race fans.
Monza, the most famous and classy track holds a prestige of its own. This is a track that has been a part of Formula One calendar since its start, making sixty glorious years of racing history. Silverstone is the only other track that holds the same historic value.
Despite its legendary status it is also a great track as far as its topography and layout is concerned. The amazing track is surely one of the fastest and trickiest around the globe. Here the speed of the roaring cars normally ranges from 250 km/h up to 340km/h marking it as the quickest of all circuits.
In this part of the year when the sport has already reached to a never tickling situation, fans can’t help but keep biting their nails one after the other, as the squad heads for yet another exciting round.
As teams move ahead excited and thrilled, the Formula One official website talked to Red Bull’s team drivers asking about their aspirations and expectations from the upcoming race and this is what they had to say....
Mark Webber:
Last season had not been a great one for the driver as he was hardly able to begin the race from 10th place on the grid and also was not able to finish it on the final race day.
This year he will be entering Monza having secured second place at Drivers’ Championship, aiming to get back to the top as he lost his position only last week.
He talked about the venue saying, “There are a lot of things that make Monza unique and special, not least of all the passionate Italian ‘tifosi’ who help to give the place a great atmosphere.”
He expressed his love for the track saying that the way it threads through the park and other great natural sceneries make it one of the most special tracks of the world.
He continued telling that the long straights of the track offer a test of the braking system of the car so the race could be really hard on the car. However, he concluded saying, “I think we can still do well at Monza. We might have a bit more in the way of opposition, in addition to Ferrari, McLaren and Renault, Force India could also be in the mix for the top places.”
Sebastian Vettel:
The other Red Bull driver who finished his last year’s race at 8thplace said that he has some great memories from Monza.
The driver had his first pole position as well as his first win of Formula One career on this track.
Now as he heads back for the track once again he proclaimed, “It’s good to be going back. It’s a unique circuit with a great history and an unforgettable atmosphere due to the fans.”
While describing the circuit he told that it is a very challenging one especially due to its low downforce and great speed levels. Moreover, he excitedly claimed that driving is great fun at the unique long straights of Monza where one can even go above 300 km/h.
The famous corners of Parabolica and Lesmo have always fascinated the drivers for they take real test of the driver as they go even faster than the first chicanes demanding heavy brake work.
Overall, the team seems very optimistic and high spirited for the upcoming race despite the fact that the team’s RB6 is not expected to suit the track much.
