Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel says they must improve performance in remainder of 2011 Formula 1 season
Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel has said that the team must improve in terms of the performance for the second part of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Vettel added that he is not satisfied with his second place finish in the Hungarian Grand Prix held on July 31, 2011 in Budapest as he was hoping for his seventh race victory in the ongoing season.
The German said that after a disappointing race weekend in Hungary recently, they need to be back on the grid where they were in the initial races of this season.
The Red Bull driver started his Budapest race from the pole position on the grid. He made a lot of struggle on the sets of supersoft and soft tyres and put all of his efforts for his victory at the Hungaroring racetrack. However, Jenson Button of the McLaren
team was faster than him and stayed ahead of him until the end of the race.
Vettel finished his race at the second place with a gap of 3.5 seconds from Button, who was the winner of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Talking to reporters, the 24-year-old driver said, “I wouldn't say that it makes me worried, but of course we also cannot accept it. We have to analyse what made them stronger and what cost us a bit of time. We clearly want to get back to where we were at
the beginning of the season.”
He also said that his team must understand what they missed during the Hungarian Grand Prix and how McLaren were stronger as compared to them.
Apart from that, he appreciated the performance of Button in Hungary and added that he did an excellent job at the Hungaroring race circuit during Sunday’s race.
The team driver went on to mention, “Well, I think that Jenson was a bit unlucky at the last two races and his win today was well deserved. He has demonstrated that under difficult conditions he's bloody fast, so congratulations on a well-deserved win.”
Let’s see how Vettel manages his next races of the ongoing season after a summer break.
