Red Bull’s Vettel wins the Malaysian Grand Prix
Winning the Australian Grand Prix, Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel remains unbeaten in the 2011 Formula 1 season; yet another Sepang race victory. He was running without the Kinetic Energy Recovery System on his Red Bull’s machine for much of his race and
remained very competitive on the grid, until the end of his course.
The Malaysian Grand Prix took place on April 10, at the Sepang circuit, where All Formula 1 teams participated under dubious weather conditions.
Vettel was dominating from the get go and having taken only three stops put the fastest time on the time-sheets. He ended the race with 25 supportive points for the Red Bull. The Red Bull team celebrated with a much deserved high shower of Champagne. He
was followed closely by the McLaren’s Jenson Button, who finished second fastest time of the race, behind the Vettel.
Nick Heidfeld of Renault was impressive and finished third. Vettel’s team-mate Mark Webber took four-strategy pit stops during the race while through the first complex of corners he remained wheel-to-wheel with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, 50 laps into the race.
Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso claimed fifth and sixth spots for Ferrari.
McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton was disappointed with his performance. He said, "I think through the race my tyres went off. We pitted too early, then we had to pit earlier. It's one of those days and you have to take it on the chin and move on."
Sauber driver Kamui Kobayashi unexpectedly ended up eighth. Schumacher was ninth representing Mercedes while Paul di Resta of Force India finished in tenth.
Liuzzi, Jerome, Trulli, Perez, Barrichello, Karthikeyan and Maldonado could not be listed because they had to quit the race early on one pretext or the other.
