Red Bull’s main strength lies in Sebastian Vettel and Adrian Newey – Formula 1
Red Bull Racing will remain strongest contender in the field as long as their star driver, Sebastian Vettel and their chief technical officer, Adrian Newey stay in the team.
The Milton Keynes based squad have successfully claimed their third consecutive world drivers’ and constructors’ championship in this season.
Even though, they faced immense difficulties during the start of the season concerning the design of RB8 because of some amendments in the rules by FIA which especially included the ban on double diffuser which was their competitive advantage in the last
season.
Nevertheless, they never backed down and kept on working hard to make the necessary developments in their car to compete well with their rivals. At last, Newey effectively developed the most competent car towards the end of the season with which the German
driver became unbeatable and performed tremendously well in the last few races.
Although, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari, who led the drivers’ championship for quite a long time during the year, gave Vettel a very tough time and fought really well until the end of the season. Nonetheless, the 25-year-old performed impressively well and
claimed his third successive championship title by just 3 points from the Spaniard after securing an incredible sixth place finish in the season finale.
The veteran driver became the youngest triple world champion in the history of the sport after winning this year’s title and expressed immense gratitude towards his team for providing him the fastest car in the field.
“You need to feel happy in the team you're in and it is essential to have a competitive car. Right now I have them both,” Vettel said.
In addition, he praised the efforts of Newey who provided him the quickest car to fight well with his competitors. He also said that the Briton has some remarkable skills and he really likes working with the genius. Besides, he said that together they can
achieve even more in the future.
“This is where Adrian is so brilliant. He gives me confidence and he designs world-beating cars. It is an incredible experience to work with him,” he said. “I think we can do even better.”
On the other hand, the 53-year-old expressed that he is really glad to work with one of the greatest teams in the sport. Additionally, he said that although he doesn’t want to spend his whole career in autosport, but insisted that he is presently enjoying
his time in F1 and will keep on working as long as he gets some good work to do.
“Red Bull is a great team to work for,” the 53-year-old said.
“I’ve always maintained I do not want to spend my entire career in motor racing and certainly not F1 - but right now I am enjoying it,” Newey added.
It will be important to note that Vettel’s teammate, Mark Webber has called Newey their beacon of hope at the end of this season and said that the Brit is worthy enough to be called as the finest race engineer in the history of F1.
Presently, Red Bull are looking forward to develop their next year’s car and are aiming to take out the most during the winter testing. Though, Newey said that they are a little bit late with the development of RB9, however, he asserted that they are not
feeling upset and are positively eying to come up even stronger in the next season.
