Red Cape tipped to win Beefeater Handicap (Div II)
Red Cape has got the best chances for winning the Beefeater Handicap (Div II) at Chester in England on Saturday, May 26, 2012. The winner of the class-5 event will be awarded a cash prize of £4,043.
The going will be good in the 6 furlong 18 yard race, which is scheduled to start at 18:15 GMT. A total of 11 runners had lined up for action at Chester and their names are as follows: Boundaries, Red Cape, Blown It, Ballinargh Girl, Song Of Parkes,
Steelcut, Lucky Dan, Stevie Gee, Meandmyshadow, Stilettoesinthemud and Methaaly.
Considering the overall record of all participants, it seems that Red Cape will walk away with a comfortable victory in the race. He has got plenty of experience and has the skills to outperform others, which will encourage the punters to place a lot
of bets on him today.
The nine-year-old gelding has participated in 101 races until now, winning 12 of them and finishing third on the same number of times. In addition to that, he has also ended up second on 13 occasions, which shows that he is fully capable of fighting
for the top positions.
Importantly, the Ruth Carr’s trainee has been performing brilliantly over the past few events. He has finished in the top three in his previous three outings, which shows the kind of momentum he is carrying right now.
In his previous outing, Red Cape did a decent job and finished third overall. He did not get off to an ideal start, but still managed to stay close to his rivals. He lacked the speed to challenge the winner, but was good enough to stay third in the
end.
Red Cape will be partnered by P. J. McDonald in the race today. He has earned quite a lot of victories, but does not have a good strike rate. He has performed well in recent times though, which means he will be full of confidence at the moment.
On the other hand, Steelcut will also be a force to reckon at Chester, as he too has got plenty of experience. He has won 12 races out of 82 attempts and has performed well in recent times, as he finished runner up last time around.
