Red Cherry Shrimp Question?

One of my female red cherry shrimp is berried. I noticed it 2-3 days ago. How long until the eggs hatch?

  1. I have to agree with nosoop4u246. It will take a few weeks, maybe less. It depends somewhat on your water temperature  as the warmer it is the faster they will hatch (but that doesn't mean you should turn up the temperature to like 100 degrees). Maybe turn it up a few degress.

    I had eggs both in and outside of my tank. Outside the tank (in a jar) had a temperature of around 75ish and in the tank it was 81ish. The ones in the tank hatched faster. Just becareful IF you are going to do this because it might stress out and potentially kill your shrimp with too many fluctuations in the temperature. So just be patient :)

  2. From fertilization to hatching, it takes just about a month, give or take a few days depending on water temperature.  Near the end of the "pregnancy", you'll be able to see the baby shrimp that have developed inside the eggs as little dots.
