The Red Cross Children’s Hospital Burns Unit has attained a massive amount of donation from the TaylorMade Golf reaching a total amount of R 124,900.
According to recent reports, a total of four events were held during the last month which were all invitational and were held in commemoration of the hard work carried out by the golfing professionals on the co-sponsored golf courses.
The golfers had a rather incredible time playing the events as the tournaments were held at the Steenberg, Simola Estate, Royal Johannesburg and Durban Country Club. These were all on-course professionals among which the top two Pros were through to play
at Arabella. The regional event thus transferred pros to a final national event that was scheduled to be played on 10 and 11 November.
Other than the Pros, the TaylorMade consumers were also given a chance to enter the scheduled regional events. The consumer was one lucky entry and was able to attain his chance after buying one of the TaylorMade, Adidas or Ashworth product worth R 500 or
more from any place since they were the sponsors of the on-course professionals.
From the fields of Steenberg Golf Club, the top position was grabbed by Ian Kennedy whereas the amateur division top place was handed out to Chris Wood who is a sixty nine year old Durbanite.
The donations were handed out to the Red Cross Children’s Hospital Burns Unit on the 10th of November and summed to a total amount of R 124,900. According to reports, the funds were composed after collecting donations and holding an auction of items. The
raised money was thus dispensed to the unit at an event held at the 5-star Arabella Western Cape Hotel and Spa.
The Marketing and Product manager of TaylorMade, Andrew Kalis, says the success achieved by the company is amazing. The event is formally known as the inaugural TaylorMade Staff Invitational and is known to collect a magnanimous amount of money for the children
who are in desperate need for a treatment at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital Burns Unit.
Publisher and editor Andrew Lanning said that he had attended one of the classiest events ever, he said that the event not only made the finalists feel extra special, it also managed to collect a sizeable amount of money for a cause so noble which proves
that one can work and play all at the same time.
