Red Dead Redemption and WWE 12 get DLCs, ‘Myths and Mavericks’ and the Rock
One game that goes to prove the age old adage of ‘form is temporary but class is permanent’ is Rockstar’s multi-award winning Western third person shooter, Red Dead Redemption.
The reason is that the game, which was released ages ago, is still popular among members of the gaming community, (just a fancy way of saying gamers). Red Dead Redemption was released in May, over a year ago and has received plenty of support from its publisher in the form of DLCs.
The most notable being the Undead Nightmare DLC, which introduced both John Marston and the wild west to zombies, was well received and helped the game earn a few more dollars in sales. However, Rockstar seem to be in a giving mood as they have announced that the next DLC pack will be absolutely free for gamers to download and play.
The DLC is a reward for the faith and support given to the game by the fans or as Rockstar put it themselves they are releasing the DLC "as a show of appreciation for the awesome long-term support for the game's multiplayer modes since its release in 2010".
Titled ‘Myths and Mavericks’ the Downloadable Content pack is focused on bringing a new improved multiplayer experience to all those who still have the game, or are looking for some fresh content to pick the game up again.
A press release from Rockstar outlined all the features and content the DLC pack would hold, it read, “The Myths and Mavericks Bonus Pack will feature new fan-favorite multiplayer characters by popular demand (including a certain grizzled ol' gunslinger as pictured above) as well as new multiplayer locations for players of Deathmatch, Grab the Bag, Gang matches and other popular online modes to get busy in.”
Gamers should definitely pick this up if they get the chance and if they do not like then they should not complain, after all it is for free.
Sticking to DLCs but moving on from the wild west to World Wresting Entertainment where WWE 12 is set to get an icon in the shape of the people’s champion, the Rock.
The Rock made a sensational return to WWE a few weeks ago when he had a bit of a prolonged argument with current superstar John Cena. The rift saw the generation gap in wrestling as the fans were torn, with younger fans jeering the Rock and cheering for John Cena, before their elder brothers and fathers slapped some sense into them for disrespecting their idol.
THQ have not priced the DLC as yet but one can rest assured that if any game can do the Rock justice, its WWE 12.
