Question:

Red Lobster Giftcards?

I purchased about four red lobster (canada) restaurant giftcards in 2006 (two years ago) from a fundraiser. It also says that I can use them for Olive Garden Restaurants. I checked the balance and it hasn't deducted, even though on the back it states: "Except in California and where prohibited by law, if you don't use your card for a 24-month period, a $1.50 monthly maintanence fee will be deducted from the balance until you use it again".

The redlobster site now has a new giftcard, and it also states that "there is no expiry date". Does this also apply to the ones that were from two years ago?

Are the Giftcards still usable?

  1. probably

  2. Just go to a local Red Lobster/Olive Garden and have them check the balance...also some websites allow you to check your balance online and there should also be a 1-800 number on the back you should be able to call and put in a series of numbers that will allow you to check your balance!

  3. Take the cards into red lobster and ask them to check the balance for you. If there's a balance, they'll work..

  4. Yup! They are still usuable. Usually there is a # on the back of the card to check your balance. You can always check that. Also, you can use the gift cards at any other Darden restaurant. (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Smokey Bones, Longhorn Steakhouse & Bahama Breeze)

  5. Regulations on giftcards have changed and where they were issued can impact on any  deductions. I would call a local outlet where you're likeliest to use the card and have them check the balance for you. Make sure you get the name of the person who tells you.
