Red Mystique, worth risking in Nottingham Racecourse Black & White Christmas Party Handicap
Despite the fact that Red Mystique was disappointing last time, one needs not to ignore his chances in the Class 6 Nottingham Racecourse Black & White Christmas Party Handicap, being held at Nottingham on Friday, August 17, 2012.
His handicap debut at Lingfield last month was not without promise. After doing nothing special in three Stakes races, he was under plenty of pressure. Yet, he kept his cool, and performed reasonably in the Breathe Spa At Lingfield Marriott Handicap last month.
He held up in the last trio, but made steady progress. Ed Dunlop’s charge switched left to make himself prominent a couple of furlongs before the wire, but still had plenty to do.
He stayed on well inside the final furlong, but never troubled the leaders. Luck was not on his side, as he missed the fourth place only by a head’s distance.
Things are totally in his favour this time and thus, a chance can be taken on him at this level. On Nottingham’s good surface, a dozen speedy runners will compete for a handsome cash prize worth £1,617. The 1m6f15y contest is going to be kicked off at 16:55 GMT.
Dr Irv should be given a lot of respect following an excellent performance at Redcar. After a few terrible outings earlier this season, the 3-year-old broke the shackles, and opened his account in a great fashion.
Ladies' & Gents' Evening 25th August Handicap saw him topping the table by two and a half lengths. A career-best performance would have given him a lot of confidence and therefore, the punters should keep an eye on him.
Astonished Harry got the better of Red Mystique in the Joy Jordan 1960 Rome Finalist Handicap at Nottingham at the start of this month. However, one cannot expect to repeat the show, because things are completely different this time around.
According to our predictions, there will be a two-way battle between Dr Irv and Red Mystique. The former will be the centre of attention following a recent strike, but we recommend Red Mystique, who is in a great position to register his first win. We wish the best of luck to all the runners.
