Red Senor aiming for success in the Pots And Pans Median Auction Maiden Stakes at Lingfield
Lingfield is centre of enthusiasm with some exciting races scheduled to take place on 28th March, 2012 including the standard 5 furlong Pots And Pans Median Auction Maiden Stakes which has a purse of £2,386.
The Charles Hills trained bay colt Red Senor looks like he could steal the race. Today he is set to compete against Chart, Christopher Chua, Samba Night and Sugar Prince.
Entering the race as a favourite with odds of 5 to 4, hopes are pinned to Red Senor’s performance. The son of Red Clubs, out of Belsay, has competed in three races since his career began on 22nd June, 2011. Mounted by jockey Michael Hills, the
three-year-old colt finished eighth in a line-up of eleven runners in the Begbies Traynor Group Maiden Stakes at Salisbury.
He showed progression in the second start of his season as he finished fourth in sixteen runners in the British Stallion Studs E B F Sportingbet.com Maiden Stakes at Windsor on 4th July, 2011. Under jockey Hills again, he narrowly missed a placed
finish by ¾ of a length. He maintained his composure throughout the race but faded and lost pace in the last 100 yards.
Paired with Kieran O’Neill, Red Senor claimed a placed finish as he stood third in the E B F “Stimulation” Maiden Stakes at Ffos Las on 28th July, 2011, finishing by a wide margin of 5 lengths behind runner-up Continuity.
Sugar Prince could give Red Senor a run for his money as he is entering the race today with odds of 5 to 2. With the exception of his latest race where he finished last, the three-year-old colt looks in good shape.
The son of Strategic Prince, out of mare Security Tiger, started his racing career on 25th January, 2012. It was a solid start for the young runner as he finished fourth in the Blue Square Winter Carnival Iphone App Maiden Stakes at Lingfield.
Under the guidance of Martin Lane, he chased the leader briefly but lost pace in the final furlong.
His second start was more impressive pleasing his trainer, Tim Pitt and owners, The Frankland Lodge Partners by finishing as a runner-up to race favourite Alkadi by 1 ¾ lengths in the Follow Us On Twitter @Bluesq Maiden Stakes at Lingfield on 28th
February, 2012. This time he was mounted by Shane Kelly, who gave him a clear run but he was driven out with 1 furlong remaining. Today he will be coupled with Robert Havlin.
With these two strong competitors aiming for the victory in this race, it cannot be determined who will actually emerge triumphant. Red Senor winning prospects look slightly brighter but Sugar Prince’s ability is not to be under-estimated.
