Red Somerset in for a hat trick in the Enjoy The Cheltenham Festival With Freebetting.Co.UK Selling Stakes at Wolverhampton
Six runners will thunder through a mile and 141 yards track of the Class 6 Enjoy The Cheltenham Festival With Freebetting.Co.UK Selling Stakes at Wolverhampton on Thursday, 15th March.
Red Somerset, Red Ransom’s nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare Bielska, is the brightest and most accomplished for the task at hand among the lineup prepared. His four starts of the season have already bestowed him with two victories while he has been
positioned in the remaining.
Red Somerset cracked into the new season on 18th January in the Betdaq Multiples Claiming Stakes at Kempton over a mile. He finished third behind the 5/6 favourite runner up, Marajaa, who missed the winner’s status by a mere head’s difference.
Spinning Ridge was the winner.
Taking a step ahead, Red Somerset settled as the runner up in the Tandridge Claiming Stakes on 25th January at Lingfield over a mile. He faced ½ length disadvantage by which the winner, Munsarim, led. Getting the closest to victory on the field
of seven, Red Somerset did display his potential.
He was followed by the 7/4 favourite of the race, Marajaa.
Earning the favourism for himself in the third start of the season, Red Somerset won the Hotel & Conferencing At Wolverhampton Selling Stakes at Wolverhampton over a mile and half a furlong on 20th February.
The victory did not come easy as Red Somerset riding with Kieran O’Neill, had to shove the closing in runner up, Ahlawy, by ¾ of a length. Reaching for the wire third behind the winner was Marvo.
The nine-year-old improved steadily with every race that came his way, taking the benchmark higher from the third position that he found himself in the initial race to winning the third race in line.
Second winning chance that he grabbed at was on 2nd March in the Cyprium Bar At Marriott Lingfield Selling Stakes at Lingfield over a mile. Red Somerset had the same riding partner, Kieran O’Neill, and the two once again had to hold onto victory
a mere 3/4 length’s distance.
Finishing the closest was Alhaban and settling into the third slot was Daniel Thomas.
The 5/2 favourite, Hierarch, was stationed fourth on the field of eight.
Fifth outing of the season seems to be a convincing opportunity to clean hands on a hat trick and comes with high possibilities of Red Somerset  getting entered as a favourite.
