Red Somerset rated favourite for Williamhillbingo.com Jackpot Surprise Selling Stakes
Red Somerset has been awarded with the best odds for Williamhillbingo.com Jackpot Surprise Selling Stakes at Lingfield in England on Monday, March 26, 2012. The class-6 event has a winning cash prize of £1,704.
The going will be standard in the 1 mile long race, which is scheduled to start at 2:15 GMT. A total of seven runners will be participating in the event and their names are as follows: Red Somerset, Jordaura, Spinning Ridge, Slam, Diplomasi, Nic Nok and
Polly Adler.
The bookies believe that Red Somerset will dominate the proceedings, as he has been in terrific form over the past few months. The punters will also have faith in his abilities, as he is in great shape compared to the rest of the pack.
Mike Murphy’s trainee has participated in a total of 84 races, winning just 15. His strike rate is not much impressive, but the main thing is that he has been doing a fabulous job in recent times.
Other than his 15 wins, the nine-year-old gelding has also secured 14 runners up positions and six third place finishes, which suggest that he has the ability of fighting for victories consistently.
Red Somerset will be partnered by Kieran O'Neill, who is a decent rider and has enjoyed plenty of success at this level. He will be eying a solid show at Lingfield today.
On the other hand, Jordaura has also been given pretty decent odds for winning today’s race. He was out of form for the past many months, but bounced back recently with a runner up finish at Southwell.
The six-year-old gelding has been pretty much inconsistent since making debut, thus the bettors will be reluctant over risking money on him. He has entered 44 races in his career until now, winning just five of them.
g*y Kelleway’s trained runner will be partnered by seasoned rider, Robert Winston, who has won quite a few events in this class. However, he does not have a good strike rate, which might work against him at Lingfield today.
Other than the top two favourites, Slam has also been given a good starting price, but he is out of form at the moment and will not find things easy. However, he has the potential of fighting for top positions.
