Red Sox Fans!-The new guy, Bay

What do you think of him, I personally think he is an awsome addition to our already awsome team.

I think he is great. He hustles all the time and he has a great swing!Nice personality too.  He seems like he will fit right in with the guys on the team and make a good contribution to the Red Sox.

hes good but i see the Rays or Sox sliding as the season goes the NYY will fight so hard

the way i see it:

jason bay is 29, he's not as young as people make him out to be, he is in his prime. manny is older and out of his prime, but is still better than bay who is IN his prime.

i miss manny. i know that all the teammates, with the exception of alex cora, and the sox managment think it was better off to take bay and trade manny, but it's still hard to get used to this and get used to the fact that manny had more problems with his "character" than we initially thought.. and gah, manny has to cut his hair for his new team.. that's sad too.. and watching him and ortiz do their little handshake thing

to the person a few posts above me, i won't quickly forget about manny! he was one of my favorite players! man, this is like when normar got traded.. and finding out normar was on steriods..

I think he is a terrific addition to the team.

Bay may not be as talented a hitter as Manny, but that does not mean that the Red Sox are not a better team with him.  In fact, Bay's aggressive hustle is just what the Sox need.  They are actually a better team with Bay than with Manny.

Let's take Bay's first game. Do you think Manny would have gotten a triple like Bay did? Instead of running the bases on that hit, Manny would have been jogging while watching the ball, so he could show off if it was a home run. He would have gotten a single, and they would not have scored the winning run. Do you think Manny would have made that sliding catch in LF?  He probably would have jogged over and picked up the ball after it dropped.

What the Sox need is Bay's hard work and hustle, that lifts everybody up.   What they don't need is Manny's stupid self centered comment of the day- that brings everybody down.

Red Sox fans will quickly forget about Manny with Bay there.  He hits just as wel with a higher average, he plays better defensively, he hustles on every play and he won't be a clubhouse cancer.

I think we got a great player who is really hustling and truly wants to play! Sure Manny is a great player, but ungrateful to Boston. I personally was tired of Manny being Manny and his diva ways. You can see a difference in the teams morale since he was traded.

The thing about Red Sox Nation is that they are very accepting of new players and respectful to the ones that leave  - I love Bay - He is a quiet guy but I think he will be an excellent asset to the line up.  I can't wait to see if the Sox face LAD in a playoff or interleague game in the future to see how they react to Manny
