Youkilis hits right handed and is hitting .317 against right handed pitchers and .310 against left handed pitchers this year. Ortiz hits left handed and a dismal .197 against left handed pitching and .278 against right handed pitching. Youkilis is having such a great year I would definitely go with him against a left handed pitcher but would have to give the nod to Big Papi against any right handed pitcher. Papi is just too good in the clutch and he would have to be my guy. As a side note, both Youkilis and Ortiz would probably be given an intentional walk if first base was open and neither would be given the opportunity to win the game.

as a rangers fan, and not part of 'the nation', I think i would rather have any of the rangers pitchers pitching if I was part of 'the nation' and the game was on the line.

Love the Rangers...get very frustrated by their pitching...just like every year

Right now, Youk. He has the 2nd highest average on the team and besides Bay and Manny, the most homeruns on the team.

Ortiz is definitely the guy to have up during the playoffs though.

For me, it depends if there are runners on base. I would honestly rather have Dustin Pedroia up if there are RISP. If not, I would choose Big Papi even though his average is pretty miserable right now.
