Red Sox winning AL Title?

Question

I am a lifelong NYer who is a diehard Red Sox fan. I watch every game, every day, and as much as I hate to admit it to myself, I do NOT believe that the Sox will win the East this year. They are just about the grittiest team out there with tons of talent and a tremendous amount of depth, but the bullpen has gone to the dogs. With all of the great competition out there this season, I just don't see it happening. Who agrees with me?

They activated Masterson to be in the bullpen and placed Aardsma on the DL, so this may help things. Plus Big Papi is only 5 days away from being in the Red Sox jersey! This weekend is going to be important. If the Sox fall to 3rd, they may have too much of a hill to climb.

I think ill have to agree. The Rays are the real deal now and for years to come. Their young and good. And they will just keep getting better and better with seasoning.

Well I'm a lifelong Red Sox fan but i also have to admit that the Rays are probably taken the race but i still think that the red sox will make it by wild card.

I'm a Red Sox fan and I think they have a good chance of winning the AL East and making it to the WS again.

However, the bullpen is an issue. It's pretty shaky. The only reliable guy is Papelbon. This year even Okajima is a little disappointing.

The Red Sox are one of the elite teams in MLB and should be in the mix all season.  The team that eventually wins it all has to catch many breaks along the way and several teams are good enough to win this year and the Red Sox are certainly one of them.

You have to realize Big Papi is comming back.  Once he is back we should be ok.

No, I think red sox can and will win the AL east this year and They will probably lose to Angels in playoff and not advance to WS. However, unless the Yankees pull some thing amazing the rest of season. Sox should be able to hold off Rays because Rays are NOT real deal yet. Next year, I probably will say different things. So far, the more consistent team wins.

While you maybe right, but in order for the red sox to win the AL title. They have to win the next few games to get back in first to win the title. They need to come out of their slump from the roading losing. Which I think could be done but they need to stop losing on the road so much.
