Red Style chasing first victory in Bettor.com Starting Commission of 1.5% Median Auction Maiden
Red Style is in a great position to bring up his first victory in the sport, by claiming the Bettor.com Starting Commission of 1.5% Median Auction Maiden at Ayr in England on Monday, July 30, 2012. A victory will earn his owner, R. Wardlaw, a cash prize of £2,458 in the end.
The class-2 event is scheduled to start at 14:05 GMT and a total of eight runners will be seen in action. They will have to be extremely quick, as the overall distance to cover will be 6 furlongs. Furthermore, the going will be good, but the overnight rain has also left a few patches soft on the track.
Looking at the overall statistics, none of the runners seem to have a major advantage over the other. However, Red Style is a touch more experienced compared to his rivals, which will give him a lot of confidence. He has been priced 10 to 1 by the bookies and the punters will also think of risking money on him.
The two-year-old gelding made his debut in the sport in April this year and was unable to catch the attention of anyone because of his lack of competitiveness. He finished ninth overall and disappointed his team.
However, things improved for the young runner in his next outing, as he proved to be a lot more competitive that time around. He was priced 25 to 1 in that event and did a decent job, securing the runner up position in the end. Although he failed to make an impression on the winner, yet his speed was quite impressive.
The Paul Midgley’s trainee kept the momentum going and finished third in his very next race. He was once again unable to give a tough time to the winner, but his team would have been pleased with the overall result.
Red Clubs’ son finished sixth in his penultimate race, as the conditions did not work in his favour back then. However, he was back in form last time around, securing another third place finish in his career. He has raced in different conditions and should now be in a position to win his first race under jockey, Micky Fenton.
