Question:

Red Wings is tired???

Ok i know that making over 100 points before 10 or 20 games of finish of the regular season is a great sucess, but i think it is meaningless, people just remember Stanley Cup winners. It is also tiring job. In addition, Datsyuk and Zetterberg were not playoff men until this season. Old man Hasek could not keep up with the speed. Even poor nashville make detroit live hard times.

, or am i wrong? Why?

  1. I don't think they are tired.  They are a younger team than people give them credit for.

If you watched the 2 loses you will see why they lost.  Dallas played hard and forced the Wings into their game.  Detroit really showed a lack of effort more than anything.

  2. When you consider that they have 13 players that are 30 or older, fatigue could be a factor. Experience is one thing, but fresh young legs like the Pens have is a big factor as well.

  3. the only thing that's tired is this arguement. the wings have made the playoffs for many seasons now & yes, they haven't won the cup since 2002 - but being someone who lives in phoenix - we'd like to see the local team get to the playoffs as much.

  4. ya emmi oglu...like you said...its an OLD team...and its not Gatorade that they are drinking in the bench...its flavoured Metamucil :)

  5. I'm not sure why I'm telling you the same thing that most of the other people are but I will.  Everyone plays the same number of games each and every year so nobody will be more tired out after the regular season than anyone else.  If anything the Wings could have afforded to take it easier than most teams with their lead in points to be more rested.

Zetterberg and Datsyuk both played quite well last year in the playoffs and were only beaten out on total point for their team by Lidstrom.  So you're point there is c**p.  Hasek played poorly in his two games in Nashville, Oh well...sure he is old but he is still among the better goalies in the league as this years regular season can attest.

If you knew anything about hockey beside who your favorite team is (obviously it's not the wings) then you would know that while Nashville was the #8 seed they were a very dangerous opponent for anyone to play.  They scored more goals over the season than over half the teams that made the playoffs and have one of the best (in my opinion) goalies in the NHL right now.  Ellis had a .924 save percentage on the season and had he played more games the Preds would have probably garnered a better seed for the playoffs.  Don't be angry that nobody here agrees with you, just know your facts a bit better and realize, as many of us do, our favorite teams aren't the only teams out there that a fine clubs.  Even some of our most hated rivals deserve some respect and not just a bunch of claptrap.

  6. I think Detroit is gonna be ousted by Dallas. I just have that feeling.

  7. You finish the regular season for the points so that you can gain that ever crucial home ice advantage!  So it may be meaningless to ordinary fans, but its vital to the guys on the ice.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by playoff men?  Both Dats and Zetts have played the playoffs before 2 years ago and had both nearly had a point a game.  Hasek was always a question mark but being the great team that Detroit is, they went into the playoffs prepared with Osgood as the backup and now starter.

As for Nashville, again, i don't think fatigue was a factor.  I think its more of Detroit being too relaxed.  You're the Redwings, they are the Predators.  You're so much better than them on both paper and in real life.  So the Wings didn't take the seriously.  But when it came time to buckle down, the Wings took care of business.

I still don't see fatigue being a factor for the Wings........yet.  But i have a feeling they will again "buckle down" and take care of business with the Stars.

  8. No Detroit does great in the Regular season and has done better in the playoffs the last few years. One reason for that is Detroit has more young guns that are contributing more. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen etc. all of them have played high level of hockey and now they can win under pressure. In 2004 Detroit ran into a hot Kiprusoff in the last 2 games in 2006 Edmonton just outplayed them. Last year they did great until the final when Giguere shut the door. This year is there year though.

  9. i like how everyone is so eager to throw the wings under the bus.

remember what happened the last time detroit lost 2 games in a row?

they came back to win 9 in a row.

  10. Okay, I'm sure Datsyuk and Zetterberg did nothing last playoffs (sarcasm), and Kronwall and Franzen did nothing either...

Hasek... i unno what to say about him... as much as I like him, his days are numbered.

No matter how many games they played or how many points they got, they played 82 games in the season, like every other team.

And they played the 2nd least amount of playoff games (Pens played the least), so Dallas should be more tired, but Dallas isn't playing like it.

  11. Its not meaningless when or if it goes to a game 7 in any series and you have home ICE advantage. So you dont think that PITT doesnt want the Wings gone so they have home ice? You dont think the PITT knows its an uphill battle if the Wings get to the finals and have home ice? Home Ice is very important in a close series, and winning the PREZ Trophy guarantees it. End of Story!

  12. i  agree with you on first part, but nashville won because detroit was s******g around. why do you think they won 9 games in a row. in 4th game dallas was desparate and detroit gave them a little too much room, so dallas won

and i do agree with hasek being old, they should trade him next year for youn prospect and keep ozzie as 1st
