Red Wolves of Indiana University sign two new players – Volleyball news
The mentor of Indiana University Women’s Volleyball Team, Charlie Brown, has recently confirmed that two new players have been added to the 2012 roster of the Red Wolves.
One of the players is Allison Gutierrez, who comes from the Decatur High School. She has signed the letter of intent to join the Red Wolves in the 2012 season. Likewise, Natasha VanGilder of Crown Point High School has also signed the contract with Indiana
University volleyball program.
The Red Wolves squad, which is associated with National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), is one of the famous teams in the region. The Indiana University Volleyball Program has the distinction to win 30 or more matches in each of the previous
three seasons, which is very impressive. The IU East aims to maintain its good reputation in the 2012 season as well. That is why the team is keen on hiring new players with great skills.
Brown is confident that the new players will be quite helpful for the team. He expressed faith in Allison’s abilities as she proved her endeavours as a high-level defensive player at Decatur. She always played an important role in her team’s success.
Speaking of Allison, the coach said, “We were most impressed with her serve receive. She has a unique signature habit that you'll have to look for when you come to watch her play! In addition to being solid in serve receive she has a great jump serve and
does a nice job of reading the court. Allison will no doubt come in and complement a hungry defensive backcourt in 2012.”
Like Allison, Natasha is also known for her high-level performance and energetic play. She worked out great name while playing for Crown Point High School volleyball team. Brown has opined that she is a great fit for Indiana University Volleyball Program.
The coach intends to put her in the front row attackers as she has the potential to provide the Red Wolves with necessary depth in the offense. Moreover, he totally believes that Natasha has all the qualities to become an impact player at the IU East.
