Question:

Red and swollen incisive papilla and incisive fossa!?

It has been very red and swollen for almost a week now. The gum inbetween my two front teeth hurt very much as well (I have a small gap). It is painful to bite into foods with my two front teeth. Is there anything I can do, or why this is happening. Similar experience? I don't have insurance so going to a doctor is kind of last resort right now.

  1. I had a bad fall back in August and just the past month my incisive papilla has become swollen. Will it go back to normal size (flat, preferably) and is there anything I can do to help the process along?

I showed my Dentist twice now and he says, it's fine, but didn't elaborate.

  2. Did you eat something quite hot? .. That will often cause a burn and swelling of the incisive papilla.  Pizza, for example, can be a prime culprit as it carries it's heat on top.  The pain should reduce in time .. if not or if there are any signs of infection then seek dental or medical assistance.
