Red and white cable converter?

is there a converter that will let me convert red and white cables into an optical cable, so i can connect my xbox to dvd player?

If your DVD player is an all-in-one home theater system with a built-in DVD player, then the only way to take the analogue stereo feed and convert it into a digital signal through TOSLink optical is to use an external audio A/D converter.

It would be easier and cheaper to simply buy the XBox A/V cable accessory that allows you to get the digital output from the A/V multi-out port.

No...why would you want to connect an xbox to a dvd player anyway? you should take the sound straight to the source.
