Red arrows banned from olympics how stupid is this....?

the red arrows have been told they cant put on an air show when we host the olympics because they are'too british' and will cause upset with non british people how stupid is this and what are your thoughts?

that is ridiculous!! i work at a shop in australia and a group of religious people had us turn of our tvs because they had s**y images on them!! but seriously how do people get offended by planes!! i think we have other things in this world to worry about

The spirit of the Olympics is peace between nations.  OK, I know this is blatant hypocrisy and that members of the armed forces participate.  The idea behind the Red Arrows is to show off to the nation and the world how clever our fighter pilots are.  Not quite in the spirit of things.

Its entertainment, pure and simple.  I am pretty sure there was an Air force fly by at the start of Sydney??? But either way it's an air show and not a military demo.

If non-British people don't like it they can get the h**l out of Britain, just like we Yanks told the British to get the h**l out of the 13 colonies back in 1776.  Too many people get their noses bent out of shape by sticking them where they don't belong.  Nobody is forcing anyone to go to the Olympics so if they don't like it they can get the h**l out and go back to where they came from.  And they can take their stupid Olympics with them.

It's ridiculous! I heard that it was because they thought it would look too "militaristic". If it was up to me, I would have fighter jets flying over our heads to keep us safe from the terrorist attacks that are going to happen, because you just know it is going to happen don't you?

Most developed countries have copied the Red Arrows - even the USA. Its about as sensible as having the Olympics based in London where all the benifits will accrue. Every taxpayer contributes but only the South gets anything out of the deal.

I dare not put my thoughts on paper relating this , appalling comes to mind.   When will us real Brits be allowed to become British, come to think of it, I do not regard myself as British, I'm English.  To all English, please fly the flag whenever you can.  To the Red Arrows, you are the finest in the world and through you the world knows that we are still the best in the world. To the faddy dud-dies regretfully in power still, my son had a wonderful expression and I use it with apologies, 's*x and travel'.
