okay, so I wasn't looking where I was going and bumped into the metal lock on the side of the doorway. and as luck would have it, it was at the same height as my belly. it hurt a fair bit, but went away. now I am left with an inch by inch and 1/2 red mark right above my belly button. I feel normal otherwise, is it just something that I hurt myself, there's no way it could've hurt the baby right? I am worried cuz its dark pink. I'm due in a few days, so my belly is quite solid and the skin is stretched alot.

  1. you will be ok the baby is in fluid

  2. everything should be fine, but i would get checked out anyway. is baby moving ok? if so and your still feeling regular movements there should be nothing to worry about. good luck your so close to seeing the little one!!!!

  3. Your baby has a nice cushion of fluid around it. But if you are worried, you should call your OB. Mind you they may make you go to L&D and sit on the monitor for a couple of hours, but it'll give you peace of mind. Good luck!

  4. it's just a bruise.  everything is fine!  i did that so much the last few weeks i was sure i gave my son brain damage!  door k***s, counters, chairs, etc.  my belly looked mangled!  LOL!  but i have a beautiful 1 yr old with no problems.  don't worry!  it will be over soon!

  5. Is the baby moving around like normal?  That's the first step in deciding if everything is okay.  Also, look for vaginal bleeding.  If anything seems strange, call the doctor.  At this point, you are so close to delivering that a bit of bleeding may be labor and have nothing to do with your accident.  Chances are very good that you're getting the worst of the injury.

Your full term now, so the baby is likely head down.  You probably bumped the baby's back or maybe and arm or leg...any of these body parts would be able to shift around with the bump, so it would be very, very difficult to cause any damage.  The baby is so well protected in there!  Bumping into a door isn't much different than pushing on your tummy to feel the baby.

I hope the bruise feels better soon!  I'm really klutzy with the big belly in the way, too!

  6. call your doctor to ease your mind, but I bet everything is okay

  7. its just a bruise it should be fine the baby is protected inside your uterus just try to be a little more careful i have a tendency to get a little too close too things underestimating how much room because i'm 37 weeks and this baby defiantly needs more room when i'm cooking ,washing dishing and especially driving
