The front of my car looks okay but i noticed the back has this white looking film over it which wasnt there a year ago when I bought it. So I tried to use a special Meguilulas wax to remove it. It worked for some spots but other areas I can still see white areas. Plus some areas where I waxed it looks shinier but it left some white patches. Is there something that I can use for this? Maybe a home remedy? I cant sell the car with it looking like this. : (

  1. The clear coat is gone>

  2. clearcote is wearing off the car due to exposure  not sure what else ot do than refinish the paint

  3. Moisture is getting under the clearcoat. You may think that sounds crazy, BUT spray the whole car with a WD-40 type silicone spray. The reason is that there is moisture getting under your clearcoat, and the silicone spary will dilute the moisture, and return the red to its natural color. once you have done this, put a good paste wax on it, and sell it. the paste wax coats, and seals the siloicone in the layer between the color red, and the inner coat of the clear coat. Take my advise, and the car will look like new.

  4. Car is red.  Red is a color that breaks down early(something to do with matching the UV wave frequency)so the paint is getting that combined with oxygen in the air to oxidize or basically rust(just like iron  or copper, brass or silver lose that newness shine to the air).

Not all paint jobs have clear coats on them and even if they do, red will be the first to degrade(age).

Anyways, go to an autobody supply store or area of the automotive department and get some rubbing compound.       Turtle Wax makes one called "ColorBack" which will take off the oxidation off (with a little armstrong rubbing with a cotton cloth)  You will never take off all the paint(no matter how hard you rub), just a microlayer..(and that is all you want to remove is the dull finish)   So "grasshopper- first go in clockwise motion for a day and then in a counterclockwise motion the next day and polish it up".      Except don't do it in circles.  Circular rubbing will show.  Do straight line back and forth rubbing where ever you can.  The ColorBack product has wax in it so you will be waxing the car at the same time so you are doing two jobs at once.     And do it in the shade.

Don't put oil or greases on the paint(you are just messing up your day) Dirts and dust and pollen will stick like mad.   You will have to wash the car down with soapy sudsy water.

I read the WD40 answer....not on my cars ever.   If water got between the clearcoat and the red coat, it would peel or blister off.  Just like you see on your house from the moisture in the wood underneath.  And that would be more like within 12 hours.
